Cape Smokey is a growing operation with multiple business units, including hospitality, retail, tourism, and recreational activities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Business Systems Clerk to support our accounting operations, POS systems, and administrative workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting tasks

Accounts payable / receivable

Entering invoices, Payments

Verify compliance (HST, correct amounts, all necessary information)

Ensure routine payments, credits and transactions are processed on time and based on approval

Managing Petty cash

Verify and reconciliation of accounts

Credit Cards

Chequing, Savings Accounts

Going to the bank to deposit revenue

Fill out the bank deposit slip for Scotia Bank

File documents / hard copy and electronically on company’s work drive

Communicate with vendors about invoices or work orders

Communicate with Customers about overdue accounts if asked

Assist with HST remittance

Assist with various financial reports

Analysis Tasks

Work of analysis of seasonal data for Cape Smokey Holding

Collection and storage of data

Visualization

Seeing different trends and analyze what cause the trends to change them

Maintenance of Operations Software

Help with managing operational systems – SnowCloud, Square

Figuring out issues with revenue streams

Setting up new products, work with system reporting

Required Skills & Qualifications

Basic accounting knowledge (college-level accounting courses are required).

Experience with QuickBooks preferred.

Strong computer skills; comfortable with spreadsheets, POS systems and cloud storage.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Proactive, problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn
