The Archiving & Assets Associate will be responsible for assisting with, organizing, and marketing the company's portfolio of iconic music rights, ensuring all owned assets and projects are properly managed and cataloged.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery, quality control, and management of all owned media and marketing assets to both internal and external partners
  • Responsible for ingesting, onboarding, and organizing assets, including, but not limited to: audio, video, photographs, documents, and physical artifacts
  • Collect and integrate metadata into the digital Smart Vault system across all estate clients in an effort to create stronger searchability and connections between assets
  • Work with members of the Assets & Archives team in achieving an entirely digital archive that ties directly to the source physical assets
  • Inbound and catalog assets from new acquisitions into our archives system, ensuring the accuracy of asset delivery from the seller
  • Assist in any advancements in the physical vault, including but not limited to organization techniques, searchability improvements, and additional storage solutions
  • Organize, scan, and ingest legal files, contracts, and correspondence into a searchable database in an effort to support the Business Affairs team
  • Identify key assets and IP to assist with marketing ideas and rights
  • Ideate and work closely with the Asset Manager and the marketing team on the development of original music-centric media content (album projects, film, TV, podcasts, etc.)

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Library & Info Sciences, Music Business, or related field
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for music, recorded music history, pop culture, and an understanding of the music business
  • Brings scalable approaches and an understanding of physical and digital media
  • Is versed in physical and digital file formats and has experience managing photography and creative libraries within the entertainment space
  • Must be highly organized with a passion for marketing, audio, video, photography, and cinematic content
  • Asset management or creative services experience
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Manages client assets according to investment preferences and company goals
  • Fosters and maintains positive client relationships
  • Compiles and presents asset management reports to clients, supervisors, and senior executives
  • Contributes to marketing team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

  • Understanding of the music marketplace
  • In touch with current trends and digital media
  • Familiarity with the nuances of music IP management
  • Ability to identify musical trends in the marketplace and anticipate those that will achieve significant fan bases
  • Provide timely communication regarding the status of each asset & projects (i.e., alerting business affairs of legal issues, advising senior management of potential project overages or delays)
  • Be a great problem solver – even more so, have the ability to anticipate issues before they arise and adjust accordingly
  • Understanding of the workflow within a marketing, production, or creative department or company
  • Background in Archiving preferred but not required
  • Encyclopedic musical knowledge and interest in recorded music history
  • Creative Marketing Ideas and how to execute
  • Experience with audio and video editing software (Pro Tools, Premiere Pro, Audition)
  • Project management expertise and experience in a process-centric, operational role
  • Archiving and/or FileMaker Experience
