Assigned Risk Analyst -Workers Compensation

Responsibilities
- Analyze applications, confirm eligibility, and issue binders for qualified risks
- Validate classifications, pricing programs, and estimated premiums to prevent premium leakage
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and apply guidelines to nuanced scenarios
- Communicate with agents, carriers, and employers to resolve inquiries by phone, email, and online platforms
- Interpret and apply filed rules—including Basic Manual and Residual Market guidelines—often requiring state‑specific research
- Participate in departmental initiatives, projects, training, and system testing
- Develop and conduct presentations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Minimum 1 year in a customer-facing, analytical role (relevant internship or pertinent education may be considered)
- Outstanding communication, listening, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to do independent research, interpret regulatory guidelines, make independent decisions, and explain outcomes to clients
- Ability to work independently to meet or exceed department metrics on quality, production, timeliness, and phone compliance
- 3+ years in an analytical, client service position in industries such as insurance, finance, banking, or industries with transferable skills
- General understanding of workers' compensation insurance or insurance industry experience
- Industry course work or designations such as AIS, AU, CPCU
