Responsibilities

  • Analyze applications, confirm eligibility, and issue binders for qualified risks
  • Validate classifications, pricing programs, and estimated premiums to prevent premium leakage
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and apply guidelines to nuanced scenarios
  • Communicate with agents, carriers, and employers to resolve inquiries by phone, email, and online platforms
  • Interpret and apply filed rules—including Basic Manual and Residual Market guidelines—often requiring state‑specific research
  • Participate in departmental initiatives, projects, training, and system testing
  • Develop and conduct presentations

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum 1 year in a customer-facing, analytical role (relevant internship or pertinent education may be considered)
  • Outstanding communication, listening, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to do independent research, interpret regulatory guidelines, make independent decisions, and explain outcomes to clients
  • Ability to work independently to meet or exceed department metrics on quality, production, timeliness, and phone compliance
  • 3+ years in an analytical, client service position in industries such as insurance, finance, banking, or industries with transferable skills
  • General understanding of workers' compensation insurance or insurance industry experience
  • Industry course work or designations such as AIS, AU, CPCU
