ASSOCIATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
The California Energy Commission is the state's primary energy policy and planning agency, leading efforts towards a 100% clean energy future. They are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to perform complex engineering work, including investigations and compliance activities related to appliance efficiency regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform more difficult electrical engineering work including responding to difficult technical engineering design and testing issues
- Conduct more complex investigations and enforcement activities
- Establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the work
- Analyze situations accurately and take effective action
- Dictate correspondence and prepare reports
- Promote compliance with the substantive and procedural requirements relating to the Title 20, Appliance Efficiency Regulations
Skills
- Must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date

- Knowledge of the Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Regulations
- Prior enforcement experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and relay complicated information in a simple manner
- Ability to deal with difficult people and manage conflict
- Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary projects
- Ability to write, review, and edit technical information for various audiences, including Commission leadership and the public
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
- Ability to create a project plan, set milestones, and meet deliverables on time with high-quality and accurate products
