Backup Engineer

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage backup solutions using Commvault, Networker, Avamar, and Data Domain.
• Monitor and maintain backup systems to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
• Perform regular backup and recovery tests to validate the effectiveness of backup solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement data protection strategies.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
• Document backup configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on backup solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in backup technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Backup Engineer or similar role.
• Expertise in Commvault, Networker, Avamar, and Data Domain.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving backup issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Commvault Certified Professional, EMC Proven Professional) are a plus.
