Full-time

At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America, where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing). We are a tight-knit team coming from organizations such as Google, Amazon, Nubank, Uber, Capital One, Mercado Libre, Globant, and J.P. Morgan. We are entering a new phase of growth following a strategic investment from Ant International, focused on rapidly expanding our partner footprint, strengthening our credit and underwriting capabilities, and scaling our operations across multiple markets.

We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Compliance and Legal Associate to join R2, providing essential legal support across our operating markets: Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Brazil. This is a high-ownership role for someone who moves fast, communicates clearly, and is comfortable navigating legal matters across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.

This role is an opportunity to work at the intersection of fintech, financial inclusion, and regional expansion - and for the right candidate, strong performance during this period may open the door to a longer-term opportunity at R2.

What You'll Do:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and partnership agreements across R2's markets

Support the structuring and documentation of commercial relationships with partners and platforms

Maintain and organize the contract repository, ensuring accuracy and version control

Assist with corporate governance documentation across R2's legal entities in the region

Support entity maintenance tasks including board minutes, resolutions, and regulatory filings

Help ensure R2's corporate structure remains compliant and well-documented across jurisdictions

Provide legal review for product initiatives, including UX/UI flows, terms and conditions, and user-facing documentation

Draft and update internal policies in line with regulatory requirements and business needs

Partner with the product and compliance teams to ensure legal alignment on new features and market launches

Assist with KYC processes, transaction monitoring frameworks, and ABAC (Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption) policies

Support risk assessments and help prepare documentation for internal and external audits

Contribute to building scalable compliance processes as R2 expands across markets

Serve as a key legal resource for local teams in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico and Brazil

Identify and flag jurisdiction-specific legal considerations that affect R2's operations or product roadmap

Help standardize legal processes and templates for consistent application across markets

Who You Are:

2-3 years of legal experience, with in-house experience strongly preferred (law firm background with relevant fintech or financial services exposure also considered)

Law degree from an accredited institution; admitted to practice in Colombia.

Full professional fluency in English and Spanish languages is required - you will work across English and Spanish-speaking stakeholders daily. Portuguese language is not required, but can be an advantage

Comfortable operating across multiple jurisdictions without deep local expertise in every one - you know how to ask the right questions and escalate when needed

Strong drafting skills - clear, concise, and precise in both languages

Detail-oriented and highly organized; able to manage multiple open matters simultaneously without dropping the ball

High-ownership mindset - you take initiative, flag problems early, and follow through

Genuine interest in fintech, financial inclusion, and the Latin American startup ecosystem

What We Offer:

The chance to join a high-impact, mission-driven fintech with regional scale

Cross-functional collaboration with exceptional teams across Latin America

Equipment provided by R2

Training budget for professional development

Career growth within R2

Contract Type: Full-time employment, subject to a three-month probationary period.

Location: Bogotá, Colombia. Remote collaboration with teams in Perú, Chile, Mexico, and Brazil.
