Role Overview

This role will assist in laying the foundation for the planning, management and execution of all accounting operational functions across Atomic's entities, including its investment management and brokerage operations.

As a strategic hands-on leader you will be responsible for the corporate accounting, risk management and treasury areas while supporting regulatory processes, external reporting, consolidations, technical accounting, tax strategies and accounting technology enhancements.  


Once here you will

Core Accounting Ops: Plan, direct, and execute all core accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliation, financial reporting, invoicing, A/R, A/P, and payroll administration across entities

Entity & Group Financials: Manage accounting for individual entities and consolidate group financial data for accurate business results

Audit & Regulatory Filings: Lead regulatory filings and audits, including FOCUS reports, Net Capital Computations, and coordination of annual audits and periodic reviews

Budgeting & FP&A: Spearhead budget processes, track variances, and support development of business metrics and FP&A groundwork

Process Improvement: Assess and enhance accounting operations, systems, and controls; implement new tools and workflows for efficiency

Compliance & Reporting: Oversee regulatory reporting, tax planning, and maintain good financial standing with relevant state agencies

Strategic Support: Provide actionable financial insights to leadership and assist with partner diligence requests

Licensing: Serve as Financial and Operations Principal (Series 27 to be obtained upon joining, with company support)

What we're looking for 

8+ years in accounting, including leadership roles; experience in high-growth, high-performance startup environments strongly preferred

B.S. in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred

Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, and regulatory reporting; able to analyze and communicate complex financial data

Comfortable with cloud-based accounting tools and modern project management and productivity tools

Proficiency in working with data and summarizing through statistical and visual approaches
