Copyedit and proofread a 53k nonfiction popular science / self-development manuscript

-Copyeditor / Proofreader — Nonfiction Book (~53,000 words)-

I'm self-publishing a nonfiction book and need a copyeditor and proofreader for the manuscript.

Scope

-Manuscript body: ~53,000 words

-Footnotes: in scope, included in word count

-Endnotes: out of scope, not included in word count

-Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition (though, again, endnotes are out of scope because I'm paying a separate person to address those)

About the book

-Nonfiction grounded in physics and behavioral science. Recurring fictional vignettes appear throughout. Comfort with *somewhat* technical material related to thermodynamics, neuroscience and with shifting registers is a plus.

Status

-Manuscript has been dev edited and line edited. Currently being fact-checked. Copyedit and proofread are the next passes before typesetting.

Notes

-All-in flat pricing preferred over per-word

-Happy to share a sample chapter if you'd like to scope before quoting

-Not looking for AI-generated work (which is different from AI-assisted work). I use AI a lot in my work life and, unfortunately, I recognize it everywhere now.
