Cost Accountant
S&C Electric Company is a trusted leader in the electrical industry, focused on transforming the grid for resilient and reliable power. As a Cost Accountant, you will support the Finance & Accounting team by analyzing inventory, production costs, and providing financial guidance to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the annual physical inventory & cycle count programs
- Maintain, generate, and analyze periodic inventory reports
- Analyze inventory, production costs, overhead, and operational expenses to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Support budgets and financial forecasts
- Perform month-end close activities, including analysis of accounts and preparation of journal entries
- Provide financial guidance to the Production Operations group on cost accounting questions and issues
- Analyze data discrepancies and assist with identifying corrective action and process improvements
- Develop and prepare account reconciliations, annual audit work papers and assist with auditor inquiries
- Play a key role in the improvement of financial processes, reporting, and enhanced use of financial and ERP systems
- Support general ad hoc analysis and manufacturing transaction problem resolutions
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules
Skills
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- Ability to gather and analyze detailed financial data resulting in recommendations to business leaders
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with various stakeholders and cross functional project teams
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Oracle ERP
- Power BI and/or Power Automate Experience
- Manufacturing Experience
- CPA or CMA
