Cost Reduction Consultant (1099) – Merchant Services

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Merchant Services Cost Reduction Consultant to help clients optimize payment processing expenses, including credit card fees, interchange rates, gateway costs, and related services. This is a 1099-contract role, ideal for an experienced professional with a track record of delivering measurable savings.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze merchant processing statements and contracts
• Identify cost-saving opportunities across interchange, assessments, and markups
• Renegotiate terms with processors, ISOs, and payment providers
• Provide benchmarking insights against industry standards
• Deliver clear savings reports and implementation strategies

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in merchant services, payments, or fintech
• Proven track record reducing costs with major processors (e.g., Fiserv/First Data, Chase Paymentech, Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen)
• Experience working with mid-market to enterprise clients
• Strong understanding of interchange optimization and pricing models
• Ability to present case studies demonstrating achieved savings

Preferred:
• Existing relationships within payment processing ecosystem
• Experience as an independent consultant or advisor

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
