**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Customer Service Guide (Human Services Specialist 1) to join our Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP) team at arenaflex. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialized assistance to individuals and families seeking services, including food benefits, cash assistance, childcare assistance, and more. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team to create a safe and supportive environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

**Responsibilities**

As a Customer Service Guide (Human Services Specialist 1) at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:

* Providing exceptional customer service and support to individuals and families seeking services, including food benefits, cash assistance, childcare assistance, and more.
* Serving as the first point of contact for customers, either in-person, by phone, or through our online applicant portal.
* Offering information and referrals to community resources, and assisting with case status and other inquiries.
* Working collaboratively with program staff to provide a safety net and promote family stability.
* Contributing to a trauma-informed and culturally responsive work environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide customer service and support to individuals and families seeking services, including food benefits, cash assistance, childcare assistance, and more.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Two years of experience in customer service or a related field, with a high volume of paperwork and people contact.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
* Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft programs, web browsers, and multiline telephone systems.
* Ability to adapt communication style to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
* Experience with multiple systems and databases, with the ability to elicit information from applicants and recipients.

**Essential Qualifications**

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
* Two years of experience in customer service or a related field, with a high volume of paperwork and people contact.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
* Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft programs, web browsers, and multiline telephone systems.
* Ability to adapt communication style to explain complex information to diverse audiences.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, limited English proficiency, and other marginalized groups.

* Experience working in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive environment.
* Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in their preferred language.
