Data Analyst

The University of Chicago is a prestigious institution seeking a Data Analyst to support its Facilities Services department. This role involves analyzing and visualizing data to improve departmental performance and service delivery, primarily using tools like Tableau and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Work with management team to create a prioritized list of data analytics and reporting needs for each business unit
• Work to achieve an integrated reporting and analysis environment, effectively leveraging analytical systems and tools
• Works with users to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations
• Participates in the development of Business Intelligence (BI) and other analytical applications. Works to achieve an integrated reporting and analysis environment, effectively leveraging analytical systems and tools
• Conducts requirements analysis, translating requirements into a scope document and developing reporting deliverables based on the design
• Works with users to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations. Provides support and communicates issues to users as defined by IT standards
• Performs other related work as needed

• Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline

• Bachelor's degree in related technical area
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with Tableau (and/or Power BI), including linking multiple data sets
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with SmartSheet
• The ability to leverage APIs to extract data from systems
• Working knowledge of SQL, in addition to database experience and understanding the format data must be in to manipulate it
• Working knowledge of Python required to help automate job processes and streamline tasks
• Understanding how to use BI tools to generate reports
• Familiarity with organization of architectural drawing sets
• Working knowledge of GIS standards and ArcGIS
• 1 to 2 years of experience updating and editing drawings in AutoCAD and Revit
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite or other drawing programs. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• 1 to 2 years of experience in ARCHIBUS or other space management systems
