About The Role

As a Data Center Capacity Consultant, you will lead the customer-facing sales and consulting process for qualified data center opportunities. Working closely with customers, data center operators, and internal stakeholders, you will guide opportunities from initial discovery through contract execution while providing strategic advisory support throughout the sales cycle.

You will serve as the primary relationship manager for customers and operators, helping organizations evaluate capacity options, navigate market conditions, and select solutions that align with their business objectives.

This role directly impacts revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and market expansion by driving successful outcomes across complex data center transactions and strategic consulting engagements.

Other responsibilities include: 

Client Consulting & Sales Leadership

Lead the customer sales process for qualified data center capacity opportunities

Conduct customer discovery meetings and strategic advisory discussions

Identify business requirements and align capacity solutions to customer objectives

Develop customer-specific positioning, solution strategies, and recommendations

Coordinate and facilitate customer data center tours and site visits

Build trusted relationships with customers and key decision-makers throughout the engagement process

Opportunity & Deal Management

Facilitate end-to-end deal progression between customers and data center operators

Coordinate communication between internal stakeholders, operators, and clients

Track opportunity status, timelines, deliverables, and critical milestones

Maintain accurate pipeline and opportunity data within CRM platforms

Drive deal momentum and proactively resolve operational or commercial bottlenecks

Ensure a seamless customer experience throughout the sales lifecycle

Commercial Coordination

Support pricing strategy, commercial positioning, and competitive differentiation

Collaborate with legal, finance, and leadership teams during agreement negotiations

Assist with proposal development, solution presentations, and executive briefings

Coordinate customer reviews, contract discussions, and executive-level meetings

Help ensure commercial terms align with customer requirements and organizational objectives

Strategic Support

Support business development initiatives and market expansion efforts

Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights

Identify emerging trends and opportunities within the data center and colocation ecosystem

Participate in industry conferences, networking events, and customer engagements

Execute additional consulting, sales, and strategic initiatives as assigned

Desired skills and experience: 

5+ years of experience in consultative sales, business development, account management, data center services, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, or a related field

Strong customer-facing sales and relationship management experience

Proven ability to manage complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders

Experience leading customer discovery, solution development, and executive presentations

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of negotiation processes

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities

Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Experience working with data center, colocation, cloud, telecommunications, or infrastructure solutions preferred

Familiarity with CRM systems, pipeline management, and sales forecasting preferred

Technical Skills (Preferred)

Data center and colocation market knowledge

Consultative sales methodologies

CRM and opportunity management platforms

Proposal development and presentation delivery

Commercial pricing and contract coordination

Executive stakeholder engagement

Market intelligence and competitive analysis

Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint

Must be based in the United States.  

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $110,000- $120,000, plus opportunities for profit-sharing bonus and/or commission. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
