We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Data Collection Specialist to join our client's team in a full-time role. You will play a critical role in collecting, formatting, and maintaining data from publicly accessible web sources through automated methods.
Responsibilities:
- Write, maintain, and execute automated scripts in Python to collect data from public web sources.
- Use tools like Scrapy and Selenium (while minimizing Selenium usage) to extract, structure, and format web data.
- Monitor and maintain ongoing web scraping projects, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure compatibility of data with internal systems.
- Develop frameworks to improve data quality and reduce maintenance costs.
- Launch new data collection initiatives while optimizing and improving existing processes.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in data collection, web scraping, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in Python
