Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Working Method: 100% Remote (with 1-2 business trips per year; expenses reimbursed separately)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team, with a focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python and SQL, and demonstrate a strong understanding of modern data engineering practices. You will work cross-functionally with other engineering and business teams to ensure a robust, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure that supports analytics and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

    Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure smooth data flow and integration

    Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance issues to ensure reliability and uptime

    Implement best practices in data quality, governance, and security

    Continuously optimize ETL processes for performance and cost-efficiency

    Contribute to infrastructure automation and provisioning using Terraform or similar tools

    Manage orchestration tools such as Airflow for workflow scheduling and execution

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

    47 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role

    Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL knowledge

    Experience with ETL/ELT development and pipeline optimization

    Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

    Experience working with BigQuery for scalable analytics

    Knowledge of orchestration tools like Apache Airflow

    Proficient in infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform

    Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)

    Self-starter attitude with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
