Data Scientist
Motorola Solutions is a global community focused on enhancing public safety through innovative technologies. They are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to leverage large datasets for actionable insights and to drive business strategy. The role involves statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization to support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Develop and apply statistical models and algorithms to generate actionable insights that inform business decisions
- Design, build, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges, such as forecasting, customer segmentation, and fraud detection
- Create clear, compelling visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations
- Present complex data in an understandable format to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Partner with engineering, product management, and business teams to understand their needs, define key metrics, and support data-driven decision-making
- Proactively identify opportunities to use data to improve processes, products, and services
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing models and data pipelines
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- 1-2 years of Data Scientist experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib)
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and experimental design
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences
