About the Client
Our client is a fast-growing legal tech company building AI-enabled operational software for the litigation industry. Their platform supports law firms, claimants, and internal operations teams through a suite of workflow-heavy products and internal tools.
The company operates with a highly collaborative product, design, and engineering culture focused on moving quickly while maintaining a high bar for UX and product quality. Their products include internal CRM systems, workflow platforms, operational tooling, and customer-facing experiences used across the litigation process.
This is a team that values:
Product thinking over pixel pushing

Systems thinking over isolated screens

Collaboration over siloed work

Real-world execution over theoretical design

They are now expanding their design function and looking for a senior-level Design Engineer / AI-enabled Product Designer to help shape the future of their platform and user experience.

Role Overview
We’re looking for a senior product designer who is deeply user-focused, highly collaborative, and AI-native in their workflow.
This is not a traditional visual design role.
The ideal candidate understands complex workflows, thinks in systems, collaborates closely with engineering and product teams, and uses AI tools fluently to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, iteration, and execution — while maintaining strong product and UX judgment.
You’ll help define experiences across internal operational tools, workflow systems, and platform-level product experiences.
You should thrive in ambiguous environments where ownership, initiative, and problem framing are expected.

What You’ll Do
Design end-to-end product experiences across internal tools and workflow-heavy platforms

Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to define problems and solutions

Think beyond individual screens and design complete user journeys and systems

Use AI tools to accelerate ideation, prototyping, iteration, and execution workflows

Maintain a high bar for UX quality, usability, and product excellence

Contribute to scalable product systems and platform thinking

Rapidly prototype and communicate product concepts

Participate in product discovery, workflow mapping, and user empathy exercises

Operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Present and explain design decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing and shipping real production products

Strong product design and UX fundamentals

Experience working on workflow-heavy SaaS platforms, internal tools, CRM systems, operational tooling, or complex B2B products

Demonstrated systems thinking and user empathy

Strong collaboration skills with engineering and product teams

Experience operating in startup or fast-paced environments

Comfortable taking ownership with limited direction

Portfolio showcasing shipped products and product-thinking depth

AI Workflow Expectations
We are specifically looking for candidates who actively integrate AI into their day-to-day workflow.
Strong candidates should be able to clearly explain:
Which AI tools they use

How those tools fit into their process

Where AI improved speed or quality

Where AI created friction or failed

How they evaluate tradeoffs and maintain design judgment

Examples of tools may include:
Claude

Cursor

Figma AI

AI-assisted prototyping tools

Other AI-enabled product/design workflows

This role is NOT looking for surface-level AI usage or “AI for productivity” answers.

Light frontend or technical implementation understanding

Experience with AI-native startups or AI-enabled products

Experience in legal tech, fintech, healthtech, or operational workflow products
