Development Editor/Ghostwriter for Rom-Com novel

I’m looking for a developmental editor with strong ghostwriting ability to collaborate on a commercial romantic comedy novel.

This is not a light edit. I need someone who can help shape the story and write at a high level—a true creative partner who understands pacing, humor, and emotional payoff in rom-coms.

If you specialize in line edits only, this is not the right fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

Refining or rebuilding the outline / beat structure

Strengthening character arcs and romantic tension

Rewriting and/or ghostwriting portions of the manuscript

Elevating dialogue, humor, and voice

Providing clear developmental feedback and revisions

Helping bring the manuscript to a publishable, commercial standard

Proven experience in developmental editing and/or ghostwriting fiction

Strong familiarity with rom-com genre conventions

Ability to write:

Sharp, natural dialogue

Distinct character voices

Humor that actually lands on the page

Experience taking a project from concept or rough draft → finished manuscript

Clear communicator who can collaborate, not just execute
