Toole Design Group is an engineering, planning, and landscape architecture firm specializing in multimodal transportation, located in Seattle, WA. They are seeking an Engineer I to work on a variety of multimodal projects that enhance community livability, utilizing tools like AutoCAD to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas
  • Use programs such as AutoCAD in order to fulfill production work on projects
  • Share knowledge with staff and clients, to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, to ensure that projects are consistently of the highest quality

Skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation or civil engineering or a related field
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Certification (FE)
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD)
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Specific knowledge of roadway geometric design or streetscape design
  • Having a strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design
  • Familiarity with design software (Civil 3D, GEOPAK, or InRoads)
  • Prior experience at a consulting firm, public entity, non-profit or higher learning institution
  • A broad knowledge base in street design and urban multimodal planning
  • Proficiency using Excel for data analysis
  • Experience conducting public outreach and engagement
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and multi-phased projects
