Engineer-in-Training - Traffic
Howard Stein Hudson is a company focused on complex infrastructure improvement projects. They are seeking an Engineer-in-Training for their Public Infrastructure department to assist senior staff on traffic and safety analysis, design plans, and other engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior staff on a variety of engineering projects including, but not limited to: traffic and safety analysis; development of conceptual and final design plans; development of pavement marking, signage, and signal plans, technical specifications, and estimates; design and feasibility reports; field data collection; and proposal and presentation assistance
- Work closely with other civil engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree – Civil Engineering
- Relevant internship or 1-4 years' experience of progressive responsibility in Traffic Engineering. Recent grads considered
- Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues
- EIT preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD and Synchro preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim a plus
- Familiarity MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO a plus
- Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
