Mission

Own the sustainable delivery and technical excellence of a cross‑functional product squad. Partner with the Product Manager to turn strategy into predictable outcomes for customers and the business.

Scope & Reporting
  • Team: 5–8 engineers within a product squad (with peers in product, design, data).

    Reports to: VP of Engineering.

    Location: Europe-first, remote.

    What you’ll own (outcomes)
    • Predictable delivery: Clear plans and commitments; delivery variance within agreed thresholds; minimal rollover.

Quality & reliability: Defect/leakage rates, SLOs, change failure rate, mean time to recovery.

Flow & efficiency: Lead time for changes, deployment frequency, WIP limits respected.

Customer impact: Team‑level product metrics (e.g., activation, adoption, retention) agreed with PM.

Team health: Engagement, retention, hiring, skills growth.

      Responsibilities
      Delivery & Execution
      • Drive planning, sequencing, and execution for the squad; make trade‑offs explicit and time‑box discovery/validation.

Remove blockers fast; coordinate dependencies across teams; hold crisp, data‑driven status.

Establish and evolve pragmatic agile practices to maintain sustainable pace.

        Technical Leadership (hands‑on)
        • Set the engineering bar (architecture, code health, testing, observability, security).

Perform code and design reviews; pair and contribute code when it materially de‑risks or accelerates.

Guide architectural decisions; keep tech debt visible and deliberately managed with the PM.

          Product Partnership
          • Co‑own squad strategy with the PM: clarify problem framing, success metrics, and prioritisation.

Balance discovery vs. delivery; instrument features; ensure learnings flow back into roadmap decisions.

            People & Team
            • Coach and grow engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans; run fair, timely performance reviews.

Address under‑performance with clarity and compassion; run PIPs when needed.

Hire bar‑raising talent; partner with recruiting; design and run structured interviews; ensure excellent onboarding.

Foster an inclusive, psychologically safe environment; promote knowledge sharing and mentorship.

              Operations & Risk
              • Track and publish team metrics (delivery, quality, flow, impact) and use them for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards relevant to the squad’s domain.

At Livestorm, we believe that diversity's got talent! We are committed to building an inclusive company culture in which a diverse mix of talented people will feel proud to join and engage. Our goal is to ensure that every Stormie feels valued and has the opportunity to thrive. Ready to apply? We are ready to meet you! All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

                What “great” looks like
                • The squad predictably ships customer value while improving code health.

                  Engineers feel enabled and challenged
