Flight Schedule Pro powers the world’s flight training ecosystem, supporting over 1,400 flight schools and tens of thousands of pilots each year.

We are now building Pilotbase, a connected system that brings together flight schools, pilots, and industry partners into a single, data-driven network. This next phase of growth is focused on expanding within our existing customer base, reaching pilots directly, and creating new revenue streams across the ecosystem.

Job Overview: 

As an Engineering Manager, you will be a highly-productive, results oriented, motivated leader who is able to set the technical direction and keep our team in alignment with that vision. This position directs and oversees the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining our software applications and systems according to business needs. The Engineering Manager also establishes policies and procedures that produce a high-quality software product and service. Most importantly, this role is responsible for creating and maintaining a high performance engineering team. 

Responsibilities:

Lead your team to set goals, plan projects, and build timelines

Hire and manage new team members and 3rd party contractors, and establish a culture of accountability

Create and present budgets to upper management

Hold coaching sessions and 1 on 1’s with tech leads

Consistently deliver quality projects on time

Work with your development team to establish and maintain the architectural vision

Interface with the Product team to answer technical feasibility questions

Own technical process and establish quality guidelines

Stay current with industry best practices and determine when to adopt new technologies

Maintain and increase development team velocity

Create and maintain a high performance engineering team

Ownership of the following areas:

Engineering Backlog

Application Performance / Availability

Automated Test Coverage

All Technical Processes (development, deployment, testing)

Application and system security

Infrastructure

Project Level of Effort and Estimation

 

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience as a technical manager

Experience leading a team towards set deliverables

Experience establishing and improving KPI’s

Amazon Web Services experience highly desired

Strong leadership skills in coaching, influencing and delegation 

Willingness to continue to learn, adapt, and be coachable

Have high standards and a strong work ethic with a positive attitude

Compensation: 

SALARY: $145,000 - $180,000
