Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer
AKRF is an award-winning consulting firm that focuses on delivering healthier, safer, and more sustainable sites through their Site Assessment and Remediation practice. They are seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer to support various environmental assessments and remediation projects in the NYC-metro area.
Responsibilities
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Phase II/Subsurface/Remedial Investigations including logging borings and soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling
- Remediation oversight and community air monitoring related to brownfield redevelopment
- Oversight of subcontractors such as drillers, excavation companies, and remedial contractors
- Data interpretation, report preparation and writing (Work Plans, Phase II and Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Plans, etc.)
Skills
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
- Up to 3 years of experience in the environmental assessment and remediation field
- A valid driver's license and willingness to drive in the NYC-metro area
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- New York City experience is preferred
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred
- Familiarity with EQuIS a plus
