About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science and Analytics team, specifically focusing on Customer Service. As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to build reliable, scalable data pipelines, transform raw data into core business metrics, and work with custom visualization tools that surface Customer Service insights. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical judgment, and the ability to span across the data stack, from pipeline development to business metrics and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink
• Transform raw data into core business metrics and develop custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights
• Work with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to identify and prioritize project requirements
• Design and implement data models that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
• Develop and maintain high-quality, supportable code using Python or Scala
• Advocate for data quality and develop advanced SQL skills to analyze and optimize data pipelines
• Communicate effectively with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to ensure successful project outcomes

Essential Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
• Strong data modeling skills and experience designing structures that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
• Strong proficiency in Python or Scala and a passion for writing clean, supportable code
• Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of data quality principles
• Analytical aptitude and ability to think through business problems and prioritize autonomously
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and technologies
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
• Strong understanding of data governance and data security principles
