**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher/Customer Service Specialist to join our team at arenaflex. As a Dispatcher/Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for answering multiple phone lines, dispatching security and police officers to calls for service, responding to walk-in traffic, and performing various clerical tasks as needed. You will work closely with our campus community to provide excellent customer service, resolve issues, and ensure a safe and secure environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Answer incoming calls for crimes, traffic crashes, medical emergencies, and routine calls for service on campus, and dispatch calls to officers as appropriate.
* Provide excellent customer-related services to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, including greeting guests, answering phones, processing monetary transactions, and interacting with customers on a daily basis.
* Conduct background checks and fingerprinting services for students, faculty, and staff.
* Create ID cards for students, faculty, and the public.
* Provide directions, parking information, and other assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
* May assist with the patrolling of campus and other college-owned property on foot, bike, cart, and/or motor vehicles.
* May assist with unlocking and securing buildings, rooms, and facilities as directed.
* Interact positively with campus community members on a daily basis and assist members in identifying potential safety and/or criminal problems.
* Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders as required.
* Remain alert for the presence of unauthorized persons; approach suspicious persons and/or notify police as appropriate.
* Maintain security controls for issued College keys; safeguard and control issued College equipment.
* Prepare routine, standardized reports and ensure that activity logs are maintained and updated accurately.

**Essential Qualifications**

* At least one year of experience involving substantial public contact.
* No criminal record.
* Ability to type at least 30 WPM.
* Familiarity with computer systems.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a security or law enforcement setting.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* General knowledge of all campus and learning centers (developed after hiring).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent listening skills, able to relate to and gain the confidence and cooperation of the members of the greater College community.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Possess excellent time management skills.
* Capability to make educated, quick decisions.
* Requires good judgment to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action in a timely manner.
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy, and act calmly and rationally in an emergency.

**Skills and Competencies**
