Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team at Southwest Airlines. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration, data quality, and data governance. Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and process large, complex datasets that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including re-designing frameworks for greater flexibility, advancing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Develop required frameworks for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies.
  • Develop logical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing significant insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including data, design, product, and leadership teams, to address data-related technical issues.
  • Work with stakeholders, including the Chief, Product, Data, and Configuration teams, to support their data framework needs while addressing data-related technical issues.
  • Develop or modify equipment and technology to meet customer needs.
  • Perform other work duties as assigned by Representative's Chiefs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and data lakes.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality.
  • Experience with AWS, SQL, and other cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases.
