**Our Data Ventures team**

Our Data Ventures team is a dynamic and innovative group of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who work closely with our US stores and e-commerce business to better serve customers through technological innovation. We focus on developing actionable, customer-centric insights and solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experience. Our areas of focus include customers, stores, employees, in-store services, supplier equipment, supplier data science, and search and personalization.

**Key Responsibilities**

As a Staff Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:

* **Data Source Identification**: Identify and extract relevant data sources, define data requirements, and perform preliminary data quality checks.
* **Problem Formulation**: Analyze business problems, identify root causes, and develop data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experience.
* **Analytical Modeling**: Develop and implement machine learning models to solve complex business problems, using techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks.
* **Model Deployment & Scaling**: Deploy and scale machine learning models in production, using MLOps and other tools to ensure model performance and reliability.
* **Code Development & Testing**: Write code to develop and test data-driven solutions, using programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
* **Applied Business Acumen**: Evaluate business cases for projects and initiatives, influence stakeholder decision-making, and translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
* **Model Assessment & Validation**: Evaluate model performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize model performance.
* **Data Visualization and Storytelling**: Develop data visualizations and stories to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.

**What You'll Bring**

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* 4+ years of experience in an analytics-related field, with a strong background in machine learning, statistics, and data science.
* Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, R, or SQL.
* Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior team members.
* Experience with MLOps, coding standards, and other best practices in data science.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with business, product, and application partners.
* Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language.
* Ability to present to management and external clients.
