About the Job

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Financial Data Analyst to join its growing Bookkeeping team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional groups, including Technical Accounting, Financial Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, and Legal, to drive key framework initiatives and improvements. Your expertise in US GAAP, revenue systems, and core data skills will be essential in this role, as you will be working with large volumes of conditional data, performing in-depth data analysis and analysis, and contributing to critical accounting research and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key framework initiatives and improvements, including the development of comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the automation of journal entries
  • Lead functional improvement initiatives to streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
  • Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases
  • Work with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve the daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analysis team
  • Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger
  • Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
  • Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of conditional data; Python a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally

  • Experience with data engineering and accounting domains
  • Knowledge of revenue systems and accounting principles
  • Experience with automation tools and technologies
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
