Key Responsibilities

As a Theater Arts Teacher at Arlington High School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching a range of courses, including Introduction to Drama, Theater Production, and Actors Studio
  • Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that foster ensemble building, foundational performance skills, and advanced acting techniques
  • Directing and producing full-length plays, one-act plays, and 10-minute play festivals, including rehearsals and performances
  • Mentoring students in scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, and stage management
  • Collaborating with colleagues to integrate theater arts into the broader curriculum and school community
  • Participating in after-school rehearsals and evening performances, as required

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A strong background in theater arts, with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., theater, drama, performance studies)
  • New York State certification in Theater or a related field (or eligibility for certification)
  • Proven experience in teaching theater arts, preferably at the high school level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents

Preferred Qualifications
