**Responsibilities**

As a part-time online educator with Hoot Reading, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 lessons to students using our innovative technology and Science of Reading curriculum. You will work closely with our team to ensure that students receive high-quality instruction and support, and you will be expected to:

* Provide 1:1 lessons to students during school hours through school-district partnerships
* Use our innovative technology to deliver instruction and support students
* Collaborate with our team to develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum
* Participate in our robust professional development program to stay up-to-date on best practices and research-based instruction
* Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administrators to ensure student success

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A bachelor's degree in education (or equivalent)
* 2+ years of K-6 teaching experience with a strong grasp of phonics, decoding, and reading fundamentals
* Tech-savvy with a reliable laptop, internet, and quiet workspace
* Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities

**Preferred Qualifications**

* 1+ year of teaching experience
* Experience working with students who require additional support
* Familiarity with Science of Reading curriculum and instructional strategies
* Experience working with technology to support instruction and student engagement
