Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced RTI Teacher to provide high-quality instructional support to students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will utilize the RTI and PBS (Positive Behavioral Supports) models to deliver district-approved curriculum and materials. The RTI Teacher will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement evidence-based interventions that promote student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement RTI interventions and supports for students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to identify and address student learning gaps
  • Utilize data and assessment results to inform instructional decisions and interventions
  • Provide high-quality instructional support to students, including small group and one-on-one instruction
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and contribute to school-wide initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and students
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • State of Alaska Type A teacher certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with RTI and PBS models
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience with diverse learning populations (e.g., English language learners, students with disabilities)
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools
  • Experience with data analysis and assessment

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports, educational correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, students, parents, and community members

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to gather and analyze information, develop alternative solutions, and work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to develop and coordinate projects, communicate project plans, and manage project activities and teams
