Job Title: Family Law & Estate Planning Paralegal (Texas-Based, Remote)
Compensation: $50,000 – $65,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-time (1099 during probationary period)

We are seeking a seasoned and highly dependable Family Law AND Estate Planning Paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is deeply familiar with the court systems and procedures in Montgomery, Harris, Fort Bend, Brazos, and Brazoria Counties.

This is a remote position, but we strongly prefer candidates based in Texas with a proven ability to handle complex family law litigation tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
• Draft pleadings, motions, and orders for family law cases including divorce, child custody, support, modifications, and enforcements
• Draft pleadings, motions, and orders for probate, estate planning, wills & trusts, guardianship, and related matters
• File legal documents with e-filing systems in compliance with local court rules, especially in Harris and Montgomery Counties
• Interview clients and gather documentation to support their case
• Organize, review, and maintain electronic files and physical case records
• Track and manage case deadlines, hearings, and mediation schedules
• Assist attorneys with trial/hearing preparation, including exhibits and witness coordination
• Handle direct client communication with professionalism and empathy
• Oversee and review work of legal assistants or drafters
• Perform billing and administrative tasks, including client invoicing and time tracking
• Accurately log time for both billable and non-billable tasks
• Respond to client inquiries and handle follow-ups effectively
• Manage a high-volume family law and probate/estate planning caseload across multiple counties

Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on experience in Texas Family Law (required)
• Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on experience in Estate Planning/Probate Law (required)

• Familiarity with local rules, e-filing platforms, and court systems in at least two of the following counties: Montgomery, Harris, Brazoria, Brazos, Fort Bend
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice software
• Excellent legal writing, drafting, and proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines in a remote environment
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
• Time-tracking and billing experience using legal billing software
• Paralegal certification is a plus but not required

Compensation & Structure
• $50,000 – $65,000 per year depending on experience
• 1099 contractor status during the probationary period, with potential for permanent employee status
• Full-time position

Work Schedule
• Standard 5-day work week, Monday–Friday, with one of the following shifts (assigned based on firm needs):
• 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
• 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
• 10:30 am – 7:30 pm
• Alternative schedule may be available:
• Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Monday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
