Field Installation Technician - Telecom Infrastructure
About the Role Our client is looking for a dedicated Field Installation Technician to support the deployment of advanced telecommunications infrastructure. This role is vital for ensuring the successful setup and ongoing operational integrity of our clients' communication networks. You will be responsible for on-site installations, system testing, and basic troubleshooting of telecom equipment.
This hybrid position allows for a balance of field operations and remote work for reporting and coordination. You will work closely with project managers and network engineers to ensure seamless service delivery. The primary work location is in Seattle, Washington, US , with field assignments across the metropolitan area and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities
Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, fiber optic cabling, and wireless access points, at client locations. Perform cable testing, splicing, and termination for fiber optic and copper networks. Conduct system diagnostics and initial troubleshooting of network connectivity and performance issues.
Verify that all installed equipment meets project specifications and industry standards. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation guides. Ensure all installations are performed safely and in compliance with company and client policies.
Document installation progress, test results, and any encountered issues. Provide basic technical assistance to end-users during the installation process. Collaborate with remote teams for support and escalation of complex problems.
Maintain a clean and organized worksite and company vehicle.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in telecommunications or networking are highly valued. Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecom installation, field service, or a related technical role. Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation, testing (OTDR, light meters), and termination.
Familiarity with various types of telecommunications hardware and protocols. Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical ability to work in various environments, climb ladders, and lift moderate weights.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for travel to job sites in and around Seattle, Washington, US . Flexibility to work varying hours as project demands require.
