Manages the Area accounting, payroll and internal control functions in a multi-site environment. Owns internal control compliance for Area. Works closely with Rosemont/Tempe Finance, Functional Area Leaders, site leaders in the Area and Partners with Sr. Director Finance to provide financial planning, analysis, and oversight in order to achieve Area and company goals.

This position has been segmented as Remote Region Based where one must travel to multiple sites as needed and live within the assigned Region or a bordering state of the physical location of Birmingham, AL; Buffalo, NY: Greensburg, PA

Responsibilities:

Functions as partner for Sr. Director Finance and business support for Area leadership which includes the site leaders at each facility.

Drive Effective Business Results

Collaborate with Sr. Director and Area leadership on production analytics and cost structure to ensure profitable sales growth and cost containment

Assist in opportunities to further integrate SY into broadline locations

Ensure resolution of contract pricing matters and costing issues impacting customer pricing to ensure customer satisfaction

Provide support in research, track and resolve vendor related issues in timely manner to avoid business interruption

Management and training of accounting standardization processes to ensure compliance and continues improvement efforts

Planning & Forecasting

Partner with Sr. Director Finance in the development and administration of the division's annual budget and Balance of Year (BOY) forecasting:

Independently develop annual budgets for facilities as assigned by Sr. Director Finance.

Accurately complete weekly Flash and monthly BOY forecasting including cross-functional collaboration and challenge on key business drivers

Track and challenge business opportunities and risk identified that may impact forecast to drive accountability to forecast accuracy

Drive continues improvement of planning and forecasting process efforts

Present plans and forecasts to Sr. Director Finance and Area Leadership

Financial Reporting and Analysis

Partner with Sr. Director Finance to create and deliver timely and accurate financial statements

Prepare internal financial management reports, internal control analyses, operational results flux and trend analyses, customer profitability analysis, and decision support to ensure goals are met

Establishes and Maintains Controls

Ownership of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance throughout Area production facilities

Provide support to the Area leadership and other Area staff members as the point of contact for production facilities/Area accounting and internal control issues

Management of fixed assets records including the accurate completion of capital request and timely capitalization of capital projects.

Ensure complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations are performed timely and identified issues are communicated and resolved

Leads Area Finance Team Members

Direct oversight of assigned Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerks

Guide, coach and development of the accounting staff

Coordinate efforts of direct and indirect reports to ensure that daily, monthly and quarterly responsibilities are met

Champion the USF cultural beliefs by example and instill these beliefs in team

Other:

Function as back up for Sr. Director Finance on limited, as-needed basis

Complete ad hoc projects, analysis and initiatives as requested

Travel as necessary up to 30%

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.

Related Experience/Requirements:

Must possess minimum of seven years accounting and/or financial analysis experience or five years in public accounting.

Industry experience is preferred.

Prior experience supervising an accounting, financial analysis or public accounting staff required.

Multi-site supervisory experience preferred.

Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOx.

Broad skill set in financial analysis, and financial forecasting required.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization.

Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment required.
