Financial Reporting & Dashboard Automation Specialist (12-16 Week Contract)

                       

SCOPE OF ROLE     

      

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Operations, the Financial Reporting & Dashboard Automation Specialist will be an experienced, hands-on contractor who will take our vision  for automated financial reporting and turn it into reality. You'll connect and clean data from multiple systems including QuickBooks, Salesforce, project management systems, and internal worksheets and build dynamic dashboards and reports that give our team clear, real-time financial visibility. We're looking to leverage Google Gemini's AI capabilities to surface smarter insights and reduce manual work.

 

EXPERIENCE

This engagement requires a seasoned contractor who can take full ownership of the project lifecycle, leading planning, driving execution, and delivering a polished handoff that sets our team up for long-term success.

SALARY RANGE

$100hr- $120hr

The skills and experience of qualified candidates will determine the exact compensation for which this job is filled.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience building dynamic financial dashboards and reports in Power BI

Hands-on expertise with Google Gemini and experience integrating Gemini APIs into data and reporting workflows

Experience in system integrations specifically QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Asana

Strong understanding of financial reporting concepts (P&L, cash flow, budget vs. actuals)

Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions

Experience creating end-user documentation and delivering training to non-technical staff

Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight

Polished communicator who can engage confidently with business and finance stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with ETL tools or data pipeline automation (e.g., Fivetran, Zapier, Power Automate)

Strong SQL skills for custom data transformations and data cleaning

Familiarity with the broader Google Cloud AI ecosystem (Vertex AI, BigQuery

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner closely with the Finance and Operations team to understand reporting needs, and align on priorities

Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to map workflows and translate business requirements into technical solutions

Audit, clean, and organize data from QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Excel/Google Sheets budget files — resolving inconsistencies, duplicates, and structural issues before they reach reports

Design and implement a clean, reliable data structure that serves as the foundation for all reporting

Architect and build automated, dynamic financial reports and dashboards in Power BI or other agreed upon data visualization tool

Integrate Google Gemini to enhance reporting with capabilities such as natural language querying, anomaly detection, forecasting, and AI-generated financial summaries

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and refresh scheduling

Document all workflows, data connections, data structures, and report logic in clear, maintainable reference materials

Collaborate with Operations Manager to develop training materials and deliver hands-on training sessions for internal staff covering how to run, modify, and enhance reports and dashboards

Coordinate with Operations Manager to complete a structured handoff to ensure the team is confident and self-sufficient after the engagement ends
