Fire Alarm System Designer

They are seeking a Fire Alarm System Designer to assist with engineering drawings and specifications for fire protection alarm systems, ensuring compliance with building and fire codes while collaborating with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of automatic fire alarm systems for diverse infrastructure projects
- Prepare engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support building and fire code analysis to ensure compliance with NFPA, FM Global, and local standards
- Coordinate with project teams, external vendors, and engineers to implement design modifications
- Communicate design concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to problem-solving and resource gathering for project challenges
- Participate in occasional local travel for project-specific requirements
Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technology diploma in a related discipline
- 0–3 years of experience in fire protection and life safety design
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with hydraulic calculation software is an asset
- Understanding of NFPA, FM Global, and Building/Fire Code standards
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team
- Eligible for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance (mandatory)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
