Founding Engineer, Viewpoints AI

We are a PearX-and venture backed startup that seeks to revolutionize how research is conducted  about human responses to media. We simulate thousands of user personas with AI giving customers research-grade insights in minutes, not weeks, and at a fraction of the cost. We are seeking a Founding Engineer to help build our pioneering study simulation platform. As our first full-time engineering hire, you'll have unprecedented autonomy in technical decisions and a direct impact on our company's foundation and future.

Position Overview

We're looking for an exceptional engineer who can own the entire technical stack, from architecture decisions to implementation. You'll work directly with the founder to transform our current prototype into a robust, scalable platform while setting the technical direction for future growth.

Your Impact

As Founding Engineer, you'll establish the technical foundation of Viewpoints AI by:

Architecting and implementing the core simulation engine that powers multiple concurrent study scenarios

Defining our technical roadmap and making critical infrastructure decisions

Building and scaling both frontend and backend systems from first principles

Creating the development playbook and engineering culture for future team members

Working directly with founders to translate product vision into technical reality

Key Responsibilities

You will take ownership of our entire technical infrastructure, including:

Evolving our backend architecture to support scalable study simulations across multiple personas and users

Developing robust statistical analysis capabilities for simulation depth and breadth

Creating an intuitive frontend experience that makes our platform accessible and efficient

Implementing core platform features including authentication, rate limiting, and security measures

Optimizing LLM API integrations for performance and cost efficiency

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of full stack development experience with a track record of scaling systems

  Strong technical leadership experience and ability to make architectural decisions

  Expertise with LLM APIs and AI system integration

  Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges

  Experience building production systems from scratch

  Track record of owning projects end-to-end

  Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
