Job Description

I’m looking for an experienced fractional CFO or startup finance expert to help tighten and elevate the financial and strategic story for my early-stage digital health company.

About the Business

I’m building a digital health platform focused on subscription-based care navigation and support. We connect families with trusted support professionals and offer layered subscription tiers with different levels of access and services.

I already have a draft business plan, grant application, and initial pitch deck, but I need someone to go through everything with a fine-tooth comb and transform it into a cohesive, investor-ready package.

Scope of Work

1. Business Plan & Financial Narrative

• Review existing materials (business plan, grant application, initial slides).

• Refine and align the business model, revenue streams, cost structure, and growth assumptions into a coherent, compelling story.

• Strengthen go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, unit economics, and milestone roadmap from a financial perspective.

2. Interactive Financial Model (5-Year Projections)

• Build or significantly refine a robust, dynamic financial model in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Include:

• Revenue by segment/tier

• COGS, operating expenses, and headcount plans

• Cash flow, runway, and funding needs

• Model must be interactive so assumptions (pricing, churn, CAC, volume, staffing, etc.) can be adjusted live during pitches.

• Incorporate sensitivity and scenario analysis (conservative / base / aggressive).

3. Pricing Strategy for Subscription Tiers

• Review current subscription tier structure (low / standard / premium–concierge).

• Set pricing and inclusions based on:

• Unit economics

• Market norms in digital health / care navigation

• Scalability and margin goals

• Convert pricing strategy into clear messaging for partners and investors.

4. Investor-Ready Pitch Deck

• Refine the existing slide deck (or rebuild if necessary).

• Ensure the story and numbers are tightly integrated:

• Problem & solution

• Market size

• Business model & pricing

• Traction

• 5-year projections & funding ask

• Create clean, investor-ready charts and visuals using data from the financial model.

You will not be starting from scratch — but I need someone who can challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and elevate the narrative and financials into a crisp, investor-ready package.

Collaboration & Process

1. Initial Meeting (Zoom/Google Meet)

• Walkthrough of the business, model, and vision

• Share documents (grant application, business plan, deck, notes)

• Align on scope, workflow, and timelines

2. Deep Dive & Build Phase

• Detailed review of all materials

• Ask clarifying questions

• Begin refining the narrative, pricing, and financial model

3. Review & Iterate

• Walk through the model and deck together

• Complete 1–2 rounds of revisions to finalize deliverables for investor use

Budget

• $1,500–$2,000 total project budget

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a fractional CFO, startup finance lead, or FP&A lead

• Strong track record with early-stage startups, especially in healthtech, digital health, or subscription/SaaS models

• Deep expertise in:

• Financial modeling & projections

• Pricing strategy

• Investor storytelling

• Designing or structuring pitch decks

• Able to turn complex financials into clear, compelling narratives

• Comfortable offering strategic insight — not just spreadsheet building
