Freelance Video Editor & Social Media Contractor

We are a nonprofit that teaches young women and gender expansive teens to code for free. Our aesthetic is cool, good-weird, and zine-coded. Think hyper-saturated, retro tech, a little chaotic. We’re making content for Gen Z & Gen Alpha.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Video Editing

- Take raw footage — UGC, screen recordings, camp b-roll, alumni event content — and edit it into polished, on-trend short-form video

- Apply our visual language: zine-coded text treatment, hyper-saturated color grading, retro tech aesthetic

- Edit for the platform — TikTok and Instagram Reels have different rhythms, different caption styles, different hooks. You know the difference.

- Source and apply trending audio with good judgment — not every sound fits every moment

- Turn around edits quickly, especially for reactive or trending content

2. Social Posting

- Schedule and post content across TikTok and Instagram according to our content calendar

- Write captions that sound like a person, not a brand

3. Light Creative Collaboration

- Occasionally flag when a piece of raw footage has more potential than planned — bring ideas, not just execution

- Stay on top of what's trending in format, sound, and editing style and bring that knowledge into the work

Must haves:

- Fluency in Adobe Premiere

- A portfolio of short-form social video work

- Fast turnaround

- Genuine understanding of Gen Z and Gen Alpha content culture

Nice to haves

- Photoshop & After Effects experience

- Experience with screen-native or unconventional editing styles

- Familiarity with the zine, Y2K, or retro tech aesthetic
