Percona is looking for a flexible and efficient Full Stack Software Engineer to join its Global Advanced Services team. You will work on database management and related solutions, doing both new feature development and bug fixing in close collaboration with our services teams.

You will work from your home office, using online tools and resources to contribute to a fast-moving and high-performing development environment for Percona and its customers.

Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection is required. Flexible work hours.

What You Will Do:

Design, code, implement, and document improvements to a high standard

Design and develop robust, responsive web applications using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems

Build and maintain backend services that integrate with database systems and operational tooling

Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality code

Create and submit patches for review, perform periodic source code merges

Perform root cause analysis of customer-impacting defects to provide the optimal solution

Develop test cases for continuous integration deployment

Participate in code and design reviews

Diagnose and fix defects

Create documentation about your work that is consumable and can be refined by our documentation team

Share your knowledge by attending and speaking at related conferences and writing blog posts about your work, participating in our public forums

Provide Support to our Services Teams

Your Experience:

Minimum 2 years of hands-on, production experience as a full stack engineer, including - related tools / build processes (e.g. pip, make/Jenkins, containers) in Linux environments.

Self-motivated with a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations

Experience building and operating web services for production users

Experience with Python web frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django

Proficiency in React and JavaScript (ES6+)

Experience with MUI (Material-UI), HTML5, CSS3, and pre-processors (LESS/SASS)

Understanding of React workflows (Hooks, Context API, or Redux)

Experience with modern build pipelines (Vite or Webpack)

UI engineering best practices: accessibility, responsive design, and performance

UX theory and practice

Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts

Distributed system development and/or database-related development

Working autonomously in a globally distributed organization

Collaborating with open-source communities and colleagues via mailing lists, IRC, Slack, etc.

Using collaboration/tracking tools like Jira/Notion

Ability to speak, listen, and write effectively in fluent English

Quick learner & great team player

What Will Make You Stand Out:

Experience with data visualization or charting libraries (d3, Highcharts, Rickshaw, etc.)

Experience working with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

Experience with Docker

Experience building distributed web apps

Experience migrating server-side templates to Single Page Applications

Experience with Micro Frontend architecture

Database management knowledge

Proven success working in a distributed environment

Additional programming languages such as Go or Rust

Shell scripting

Automation in Linux environments

Test Driven Development and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines

Familiarity with observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing)
