Job Description

The Dori Slosberg Foundation DBA Dori Saves Lives is seeking a highly motivated, well-connected, and results-driven Fundraising & Grant Writing Specialist to help expand our life-saving traffic safety programs throughout Florida.

This is a part-time position offering up to 20 hours per week at a guaranteed rate of $25 per hour.

The ideal candidate MUST:

Have established contacts and relationships within the local community

Be capable of producing fundraising results quickly

Be comfortable building partnerships with businesses, organizations, community leaders, and donors

Live within 45 minutes of Tallahassee, Florida

Be passionate about making Florida’s roads safer for teens and families

This is NOT an entry-level networking position. We are specifically seeking someone who already has strong community relationships and fundraising connections in place.

About Dori Saves Lives

The Dori Slosberg Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit, public service organization dedicated to traffic and road safety.

WE ARE A COMMUNITY PARTNER OF WAYMO (SELF DRIVING TAXI SERVICE OWNED BY GOOGLE)

The foundation was established in memory of Dori Slosberg, daughter of former State Representative Irving “Irv” Slosberg, whose life tragically ended in a crash while she was unbuckled. Four other girls were also killed, one survivor was left quadriplegic, and Dori’s twin sister, Emily Slosberg-King, survived with serious injuries.

Established in 2004 and receiving nonprofit status in 2005, Dori Saves Lives has become one of Florida’s most recognized and respected traffic safety organizations.

We are now preparing for significant expansion and are seeking the right fundraising professional to help move our mission forward.

Our Mission

Educate teen drivers about the importance of traffic and road safety

Develop teen leaders and encourage civic engagement

Promote safe driving habits with a focus on seatbelt usage and preventing distracted and impaired driving

Support and advance driver education programs

Assist the Florida Department of Transportation in promoting safer roadways

Responsibilities

Develop and execute fundraising strategies that align with organizational goals

Secure sponsorships, donations, and community partnerships

Utilize existing community and business contacts to generate fundraising opportunities

Build and maintain strong donor and sponsor relationships

Identify new funding opportunities and partnership prospects

Organize and assist with fundraising campaigns and events

Utilize fundraising software and donor databases, including NoCRM

Collaborate with leadership on marketing and promotional initiatives

Help expand community awareness and organizational reach

Current Sponsorship & Partnership Opportunities Include:

Digital advertising partnerships in shopping malls

“No Texting & Driving” school safety postcard sponsorships

Branded school pickup/drop-off safety campaigns

Co-branded traffic safety awareness materials

Partnership logo placement opportunities

Community event sponsorships

Teen Driver Safety Assembly sponsorship opportunities

Qualifications

Proven fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship, sales, business development, and donor-relations experience

EXISTING community contacts and professional relationships are REQUIRED

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to deliver measurable fundraising results

Strategic thinking and organizational abilities

Comfortable working independently

Familiarity with CRM/database systems preferred

Passion for public safety, education, and community impact

Important Requirements

Applicant MUST live within 45 minutes of Tallahassee, Florida

Applicant MUST already have strong community and business connections

Remote Position

Position is part-time for up to 20 hours per week

Guaranteed pay is $25 per hour

Additional performance-based bonuses may apply
