Furnace Assistant
Real Alloy is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. They are seeking a Furnace Assistant who will assist in all furnace operations to ensure smooth running operations and a productive shift while working in extreme temperatures in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in all furnace operations as required in a timely but safe manner to ensure smooth running operations and a productive shift
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Highly motivated, goal oriented, ethical, and challenge driven
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Position requires the use of senses, including visual examination, observing surrounding traffic, and determining employee location
- Position requires the ability to judge distance and distinguish colors
- Position requires the use of touch and smell to identify problems with equipment, and the ability to speak and understand speech
- Must be adequately able to hear safety alarms
- Position may require working in tight and confined working conditions
- Position will require working in extreme heat while working directly on or near furnaces
- Position requires the ability to climb, ascend/descend ladders, balance, and work at heights for extended periods of time
- Also requires body movement such as walking, standing, reaching, crouching, sitting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and turning of torso
