Health Info Coder IV

• SHIFT: Mon-Friday can start between 5am -8am but must have a consistent schedule

LOCATION: Remote

MINIMUM REQUIRED:
-Experience with Transplant Organ Coding
-Must have Trauma 1 and Academic Facility Coding experience (able to handle lots of complex cases)
-Must have demonstrated coding knowledge with at least 3 years’ experience with inpatient and/or observation coding and charging in acute care setting with RHIT/RHIA/CCS Proven skill with computers and computer systems

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Coding manager, and according to established procedures, this position assigns ICD, PCS and/or CPT codes for patients receiving services at UCSD Health System. Assigns DRG and all applicable APCs for patient accounts and abstracts all coded data into abstracting information system. Responsible for data entry into electronic databases for use in the assessing quality of patient care, outcome analysis, and financial management.

Pay: $61.10 per hour
