If so, R & W Group has a great remote opportunity! One of our corporate clients in the energy/telecom field is looking for a Contract Manager. In this position, you would play a critical role in managing all contractual, regulatory, and compliance aspects of the company’s engineering and design projects. You would oversee contract negotiation, execution, and compliance; manage corporate registrations and insurance programs; and lead regulatory research to ensure the company operates in full alignment with applicable laws, licensing, and industry standards. You MUST live in the US.

Essential Job Functions:
• Draft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements, master service agreements (MSAs), subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders supporting engineering and design services.
• Collaborate with business development, project management, and legal teams to ensure contractual terms reflect business intent, service scope, and risk allocation.
• Develop standardized templates and clause libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across business units
• Maintain corporate state business registrations, engineering firm licenses, and professional engineer (PE) certificates of authorization.
• Monitor renewal deadlines and coordinate with state boards and regulatory agencies to ensure all registrations remain active and compliant.
• Track and report on jurisdictional requirements impacting operations across service geographies.
• Manage company and project-specific insurance requirements including certificates, endorsements, and coverage compliance (general liability, professional liability, workers’ compensation, auto, umbrella, etc.).
• Coordinate with brokers and clients to ensure contractually required limits and additional insured language are met.
• Evaluate insurance-related risk exposure and recommend adjustments to coverage as business scales or risk profiles evolve.
• Conduct ongoing research into federal, state, and local regulations affecting the engineering, telecom, and electric utility sectors—including safety, environmental, permitting, data protection, and labor compliance.
• Maintain a repository of regulatory summaries and compliance checklists relevant to the company’s vertical markets.
• Advise leadership on upcoming changes (e.g., FCC rules, DOT standards, utility commission policies) that could impact operations, contracting, or delivery models.
• Establish centralized contract repositories and manage version control, execution records, and supporting documentation.
• Implement tracking systems for key deliverables, obligations, renewal dates, closeout procedures and lessons-learned documentation.
• Serve as primary point of contact for contractual matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Support onboarding of subcontractors through prequalification, flow-down compliance, and certificate validation.
• Promote positive, transparent communication and fair issue resolution.
• Lead contract-related claims, disputes, or negotiation of change orders.
• Partner with internal and external counsel to prepare documentation and manage mediation, arbitration, or litigation processes when required.
• Work with accounting and project management teams to track committed and forecasted contract values, billing schedules, and financial exposure.
• Generate reports summarizing risk trends, insurance compliance, and registration status for executive review.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or related field.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in contract management or legal administration within engineering, construction, or infrastructure services.
• Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), or CCCA (Construction Specifications Institute) preferred
• Familiarity with utility, broadband, and public-sector contracting strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-state operations and licensing compliance management.
• Strong understanding of professional services contracting, indemnity, and limitation-of-liability concepts.
• Familiarity with contract management and ERP tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate complex terms into practical guidance for project teams.
• High attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across functional teams and enforce accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure, effectively multitasking and managing to deadline(s) in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM Eastern Time; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
• Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to travel to the HQ as needed

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
• Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
• Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
