The Southwest Florida Water Management District is a government agency focused on protecting water resources and minimizing flood risks. They are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support the Water Use Permit Compliance section by analyzing hydrologic data and ensuring compliance with water use permits.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of geology/hydrogeology when reviewing supporting documentation submitted with water use permit applications
  • Verifies Permittees are in compliance with conditions on water use permits
  • Uses computer software to analyze and interpret hydrologic data from well logs, test data, file of record database information
  • Assesses groundwater and or surface water movement to ensure reasonable assurance criteria are satisfied prior to WUP issuance
  • Communicates scientific and technical information in various formats including graphs and charts
  • Answers questions and provide technical assistance internally and members of the public when appropriate

  • Bachelors in Hydrology or Geology for Hydrogeologist 2
  • Bachelors in Hydrology or Geology for Hydrogeologist 3

  • PG/PE certification for Hydrogeologist 3
  • Valid Drivers License required for all positions
