Job Description:

As an IAM Automation Engineer, you will help strengthen and streamline the identity and access management systems that support our critical operations. In this role, you will design and implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, enhance security, and ensure appropriate access to the systems and data our teams rely on every day. Working closely with IT and business partners, you will contribute to the development of scalable IAM processes and access controls that help protect Vitalant’s technology environment while supporting our mission of saving and improving lives.

Key Skills for this role:
Intermediate scripting and automation (PowerShell, object-oriented programming)

Active Directory and Azure configuration

IAM tool integration and support- Identity lifecycle automation

Compliance alignment and risk monitoring

Cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation

Compensation: $92,000 - $110,000
This position offers a remote work-from-home opportunity for candidates located within the Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Remote work outside this area is not supported.

As an IAM Engineer, you'll get to:
Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions that improve identity and access management (IAM) operations and reduce manual effort.

Manage user lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, access provisioning, and deprovisioning across enterprise systems.

Support and maintain IAM technologies and access controls within Active Directory, Azure, and hybrid environments.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize IAM systems, automated workflows, and integrations to ensure secure and reliable performance.

Assist with the implementation, configuration, and integration of IAM tools, technologies, and system enhancements.

Assess IAM processes and environments to identify security risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

Support compliance with regulatory and security frameworks, including HIPAA, FDA, and CIS Controls.

Contribute to the development of IAM policies, procedures, standards, and strategic initiatives that advance IAM maturity.

Research, evaluate, and document IAM solutions, requirements, and technical specifications to support implementation efforts.

Track IAM performance, compliance, and risk metrics; prepare reports and recommendations for leadership.

Collaborate with IT teams, business partners, and vendors to deliver secure, scalable identity and access management solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent work experience, required
Demonstrated expertise in:
PowerShell scripting and automation

Object-oriented programming

Identity lifecycle management

Active Directory, Azure, LDAP

IAM tools and integration with HR systems

MFA, SSO, audit processes – Required

Audit and risk management knowledge – Preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
One or more of the following certifications (or equivalent) is required. These credentials demonstrate foundational to intermediate proficiency in IAM and security technologies:
CompTIA Security+

Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

Okta Certified Professional

Other vendor-specific or role-relevant IAM/security certifications

EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience in identity and access management, including systems administration and support, required. To Include: 
Active Directory and Azure environments

Implementing access provisioning and deprovisioning workflows

Supporting IAM tools and technologies

Experience working in healthcare or regulated industries, preferred

Hands-on experience with IAM automation and scripting, preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, object-oriented programming)

Strong understanding of IAM workflows, provisioning, and deprovisioning

Experience with IAM tools and integration with enterprise systems

Ability to analyze and improve IAM processes and recommend solutions

Effective communication and documentation skills for cross-functional collaboration

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results independently

Strong attention to detail and commitment to security and compliance

Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
