As an IC4 – Sr. Infra Engineer – DBA, you will

be responsible for

leading the design, implementation, and optimization of complex database systems that support our fintech multi-product B2C and B2B platform. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, scalability, security, and resilience of our data infrastructure. This role requires deep technical

expertise

, proactive leadership in incident and

capacity

management, and the ability to drive strategic improvements across the database ecosystem.

 

Main

Responsibilities

 

  • Architect and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions for mission-critical applications and data services.

     

  • Lead the design and optimization of database schemas, indexing strategies, and partitioning for large-scale data environments.

     

  • Oversee advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning across multiple database platforms.

     

  • Design and enforce database security policies, access controls, and encryption standards in compliance with regulatory frameworks.

     

  • Reslve incident response and recovery efforts for complex database-related outages, ensuring minimal business disruption.

     

  • Develop and maintain advanced automation for database provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance using infrastructure-as-code and scripting tools.

     

  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to integrate database solutions into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures.

     

  • Evaluate and implement new database technologies, tools, and architectures to improve reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.

     

  • Own the lifecycle management of database systems, including upgrades, migrations, and deprecations.

     

  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level DBAs, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing across the team.

     

  • Define and maintain database governance standards, operational runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.

     

  • Lead root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews for major incidents, driving long-term remediation and resilience improvements.

     

  • Monitor and report on key database health and performance metrics, providing visibility to leadership and stakeholders.

     

  • Partner with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness and data protection across all environments.

     

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline database operations and reduce manual intervention.

     

  • Participate in capacity forecasting and infrastructure planning to support business growth and product expansion.

     

  • Represent the DBA function in cross-functional architecture and planning forums.

     

  • Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning within the platform engineering team.

     

    Required Knowledge and Experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

       

    • 6+ years of experience in database administration or engineering roles, with proven experience in large-scale, high-availability environments.

       

    • Deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar.

       

    • Strong proficiency in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database internals.

       

    • Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, SQL).

       

    • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, GCP Cloud SQL, etc.).

       

    • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

       

    • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

       

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

       

    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

       

    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

       

    • Advanced English proficiency.
