Job Summary

The Industry Marketing Manager is a key individual contributor role responsible for building and executing marketing programs that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and lead generation across an assigned industry vertical (which may include HVAC, plumbing, or appliance) and a portfolio of vendors and brand partners within that segment. This role owns the full marketing lifecycle for the assigned segment, spanning campaign strategy and content creation through vendor partner coordination and performance reporting. A critical component of the role is developing strong vendor relationships to secure co-op and vendor marketing funds, gather creative assets, and align joint initiatives that grow sales and market presence.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with B2B distribution or trade marketing experience who can hit the ground running and operate effectively within a lean, cross-functional team.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, web, social, print, and digital channels targeted at distributors, contractors, and trade professionals within the assigned industry vertical

Own the segment marketing calendar, managing campaign timing, creative requirements, and channel deployment

Build lead generation campaigns and track performance metrics to continuously optimize results

Create promotional content that drives product awareness and preference for vendor and brand partners within the assigned portfolio

Build and maintain marketing relationships with vendor and brand partners within the assigned vertical, aligning on joint marketing objectives and campaign calendars

Proactively solicit co-op funding and vendor marketing support to subsidize campaigns and maximize segment marketing investment

Gather brand assets, product content, and creative materials from vendor partners and maintain a well-organized digital asset library

Manage vendor-funded marketing programs end-to-end, ensuring deliverables are met and results are reported back to partners

Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for vendor and brand partners within the assigned industry segment

Write marketing copy for email campaigns, product promotions, flyers, sell sheets, and digital content tailored to the assigned trade audience

Brief and collaborate with the graphic design resource to develop on-brand campaign materials

Develop print collateral for trade shows, sales team enablement, and customer communications

Ensure all marketing materials accurately represent brand standards and resonate with the target audience

Partner with the central Digital and Web team to publish and optimize industry brand content and campaign landing pages

Provide campaign briefs, content, and creative direction to the digital team for execution of paid and organic digital initiatives

Manage social media content planning and scheduling for the assigned segment, coordinating with the digital team on deployment

Track and report on campaign performance across channels, including email open and click rates, lead volume, and campaign ROI

Use performance data to inform future campaign decisions and continuously improve marketing effectiveness

Maintain and grow the segment contact and email database

Compile regular performance summaries for leadership and vendor partners

Use Claude (Anthropic AI) as a working tool for content drafting, brainstorming, campaign ideation, and messaging development

Use Canva and Brandfolder for asset creation and digital asset management, ensuring brand consistency across all plumbing deliverables

Maintain organized project files and campaign documentation within the team's Wrike project management system

Collaborate cross-functionally with the industry sales team, Industry Marketing peers, Corporate Marketing, Digital and Web, and vendor partners

Participate in marketing team meetings and provide regular updates on campaign status, vendor partner activity, and upcoming initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field required

3–6+ years of professional marketing experience, with demonstrated success in B2B, distribution, wholesale, or trade marketing environments preferred

Proven experience planning and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns including email, social media, print, and digital

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position may require over 40 hours per week and includes regular physical activity such as:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Ability to view and interact with computer screens for extended periods

Occasional travel to support trade shows, vendor meetings, or business unit visits may be required (less than 15%)

Ability to lift and carry event or trade show materials up to 25 pounds on occasion

Standard office or remote work environment
