This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation.
Actual salary shall be </span><span>determined</span><span> by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.</span></span></p></div><div><p><br></p></div><div><p><span><span>The Enterprise GIS team </span><span>operates</span><span> out of the Department of Public Works but works across the </span><span>city</span><span> to coordinate GIS efforts, lead multi-departmental GIS projects, geospatially-enable City business systems, and administer Enterprise GIS infrastructure for citywide use. The </span><span>city</span><span> has standardized on a modern technology stack consisting of Windows Server, Esri ArcGIS platform, </span><span>VertiGIS</span><span> Studio, Safe Software FME, and SQL Server enterprise geodatabases. The </span><span>city</span><span> has an enterprise license agreement with Esri, and the Enterprise GIS team </span><span>maintains</span><span> a large Enterprise GIS server environment with public and internal-facing ArcGIS Server instances, complementary ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online organizations, an SDE environment featuring a data catalog with over 1</span><span>,</span><span>000 feature classes, and integrations with dozens of business systems.</span></span></p></div><div><div><p><br></p></div><div><p><span><span>The ISA is a professional-level position in the IT professional management series and responsible for GIS system administration, database design, business system integration, application development, and implementation of large-scale enterprise projects.
The position requires </span><span>a GIS professional with </span><span>broad </span><span>technical experience as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. The ideal candidate must be a strong individual contributor that is able to take full ownership of projects, designing solutions in alignment with City Enterprise GIS standards and industry best practices and working at a hands-on level to build, implement, and support such solutions. The position </span><span>also </span><span>demands proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. </span></span><span><span>Advanced knowledge of the ArcGIS platform</span><span> and experience with GIS server administration </span><span>is </span><span>required</span><span>. </span><span>Experience with </span><span>VertiGIS</span><span> Studio </span><span>and GIS</span><span> web</span><span> application development</span><span> in an Esri environment</span><span> is highly desir</span><span>able. </span></span></p></div><div><p><br></p></div><div><p><span><span>The GIS ISA reports to the Enterprise GIS Manager.
This position </span><span>is responsible for</span><span> programming that supports the development and maintenance of major applications used citywide. </span></span></p></div><div><p><br></p></div><div><p><span><span>Key responsibilities and duties may include</span><span>,</span><span> but are not limited to the following:</span></span></p></div><div><p><br></p></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Administer </span><span>Enterprise</span><span> GIS server environment (ArcGIS Enterprise, </span><span>VertiGIS</span><span> Studio</span><span>, FME</span><span> Server</span><span>), including planning for and conducting system upgrades; applying and confirming patches; capacity planning and load testing; publishing and tuning services; managing backups; troubleshooting and resolving system issues; managing security policies, user accounts, roles, and permissions; and </span><span>maintaining</span><span> system documentation.</span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Meet with business owners and end users to gather and document requirements </span><span>for GIS solutions. </span><span>Design, build, and deploy mapping applications </span><span>on the ArcGIS platform</span><span>. Provide documentation, training, and support to end users. </span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Develop</span><span> and </span><span>maintain</span><span> web mapping applications using </span><span>VertiGIS</span><span> Studio Web 5.x, including web map authoring, site configuration, and development of print templates, reports, and workflows. </span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Develop and </span><span>maintain</span><span> complex geoprocessing routines and ETL workbenches using FME and/or Python. </span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Conduct data modeling and design activities for new datasets by analyzing inputs and developing </span><span>appropriate schemas</span><span> in alignment with City standards.</span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Build and support GIS integrations with city </span><span>business systems.</span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><span><span>Lead large-scale, cross-department Enterprise GIS projects. Work collaboratively with departments to reduce program redundancies and support effective use of enterprise resources.
Train end users on enterprise standards and best practices</span><span>;</span><span> provide development oversight and guidance.</span></span></p></li></ul></div><div><p><br></p></div><div><p><span><span>In addition, this position is part of a team responsible for providing GIS support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated. <strong>This position requires to work onsite, 5 days/week during probationary period.
