Akin is a company that focuses on providing a structured onboarding experience for new hires. The IT Onboarding Specialist is responsible for introducing new employees to the company's IT systems and policies, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Akin’s New Employee Welcome meetings introducing new hires to the IT onboarding process
  • Conducts IT Onboarding appointments
  • Prepares and ships equipment for new hires to the appropriate location
  • Maintains an up-to-date computer and cellphone inventory
  • Prepares and ships replacement equipment
  • Operates internal backend and account provisioning tools and resolves issues
  • Effectively uses ticketing system to organize, prioritize and monitor work
  • Performs quality assurance checks of onboarding process and maintains accurate documentation at all times
  • Collaborates with HR, hiring managers and other stakeholders on process improvement
  • Partners with MSP and other vendors to ensure a successful onboarding
  • Handles offboarding requests and ensures assigned equipment is returned to inventory in a timely manner
  • Creates, maintains and supports a safe and welcoming environment for people of color, disabled, trans and gender non-conforming staff, and other historically excluded populations
  • Assists with other IT projects and support needs during downtime, onsite as needed

Skills

  • 1+ years of IT/help desk support
  • Active Directory or EntraID administration
  • Experience with Windows and iOS environments
  • A valid driver's license and a favorable driving record, with no more than three violations within the past three years
  • Experience in customer facing IT/help desk technical support roles
  • Power user of Microsoft applications
  • Extraordinary communication, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow through to completion
  • Extremely attentive to detail
  • Customer-centric attitude
  • Familiarity with or interest in the principles of accessibility, inclusion, and belonging; and experience working successfully with colleagues, clients, or communities from a variety of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated openness to learning and contributing to an inclusive workplace environment
  • Experience using a ticketing system (JIRA, Zendesk, or similar)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft cloud computing platform
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a major plus
